The 4th Annual Target Christmas Shopping Spree this year was truly spectacular! Compared to last year’s event hosting 18 kids with their guardians, this year, we had the pleasure of hosting 40+ kids and their guardians. The event continues to spread the Christmas spirit and instill hope during the holidays. Witnessing the joy on these kids’ faces as they choose presents without limitations is a heartwarming experience.

We were thrilled to have a multitude of current Penn State athletes join the shopping spree, representing the Men’s Soccer team, Men’s Basketball Team, and Football Team. The atmosphere was filled with happy tears, laughter, and smiles. Our gratitude goes to Target for generously hosting this event. They not only provided small gifts and gift cards towards the event but also decorated shopping carts and offered hot cocoa and cookies. Even Bullseye made an appearance, much to the delight of the kids. As government restrictions began to lessen and opportunities to resume activities came full circle, new challenges emerged, led by an increase in transportation issues for their students and the inability for many to attend the after school programs. We are proud to announce that we have been able to solve this issue by fully funding a bus so that Penns Valley Youth Center can provide all of their students with free transportation to their programs indefinitely.
