What We Do

Programs & Events

Each year, The State of Hope Foundation reaches over 500 children through programs in our community. Collaborating with Penns Valley Youth Center, Centre County Children and Youth Services, Park Forest Preschool, and other organizations, we work to imagine and provide new opportunities for disadvantaged youth.

Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament

Our annual golf tournament at the Mountain View Country Club in Boalsburg, PA, features current and former professional athletes and entertainers from across the nation. Beginning with lunch and ending with prizes, this event celebrates the spirit of giving.

"Carry On" Backpacks

Our "Carry On" program provides a duffel backpack filled with toiletry essentials, pajamas, a book, and another special item to each child who enters the Centre County foster care system. These backpacks provide children with little or nothing to their name with something they can call their own.

Penns Valley Youth Center Programs

The Penns Valley Youth Center provides after school programming to disadvantaged youth in grades K-12. We work to provide transportation for students to and from these programs. In 2020, The State of Hope Foundation fully funded a bus to provide free transportation to students indefinitely.

Scholarships & Aid Programs

Annually, the State of Hope Foundation provides school uniforms, Christmas aid, and other essentials to low-income families. In the coming years, we will work to create a scholarship program that allows disadvantaged youth to pursue higher education.

Target Christmas Shopping Spree

Every year Marissa and I have the privilege to take local foster kids on a Christmas Shopping spree at our local Target. It is such a joy to see the smile on their faces as they pick out their favorite toy, book, clothes or even treat. We love how we can bless these kids, especially with the help of our local community that helps support our foundation. Target does an amazing job, as they donate hot chocolate, cookies and even decorate the shopping carts. This year was extra special as Bullseye made a special appearance. Thank you for all those who donate and make this such a special event! State of Hope is really changing lives, starting at the little hearts around us.
